New Immigration Bill approved by the
House Judiciary Committee. It contains provisions on Hong Kong including an
increase in the annual question of
immigrant visas which do not have to be
used until the year 2002. It also
provides for 15,000 additional visas for employees of US firms in Hong Kong.
There is still some way to go before
this Bill becomes law and the US
Administration have yet to put their weight behind it.
