Interrationl elfast,

(you know that David

in Peking :).

Many thanks for your letter of 9 April with which you enclosed a general introductory video on Hong Kong. This made an ideal supplement to my address to the Albury Lions Club. I am also grateful to Stephen Mak (HKTDC, Sydney) for going to so much trouble to provide me with a separáte video. Unfortunately this arrived too late for use on this occasion but we shall take up his kind offer to hold it in our Library for future use. I hope you can agree to us similarly keeping your video for the same purpose.

The video on Hong Kong contributed to a successful evening. I was able to put right a number of mis- apprehensions about the arrangements for the territory's future and efforts at maintaining confidence in the period between now and the resumption of Chinese sovereignty. A worthwhile exercise and I am grateful to all who con- tributed material on which I could draw or use directly.

Yours sincerely, плавать
