where consideration is currently being given to the possibility of lifting the reservation as a result of the recent extension of legal aid provision. I am enclosing extracts from a recently prepared report on the Courts of the Caymand Islands, and an extract from a minute by another FCO legal adviser containing comments on the suggestion that the reservation be withdrawn.

5. The Strasbourg case law is a little more helpful. I enclose extracts from the most recently published Digest of Strasbourg Case Law (1984) and a copy of the judgment in the Granger case (1989), which is the most relevant one I have found (especially paragraphs 44-48). Let me know if you require the full judgment of any of the cases referred to in the Digest.
