Feter C.K. Chan, BLCC member, on Both were among the delegation

and 15 May respectively. Hong Kong lawyers received by Ji Pengfei, Director of HKMO, in Peking recently. The conversations touched on Ji's suggestion to

Hong Kong lawyers to prepare a list of HK laws that may be incompatible with the BL, as well as the Bill of Rights.

Chan would not be drawn on Chinese views on the question of

compatibility of Hong Kong laws with the Basic Law. When I referred to recent press reports over Ji's suggestion that HK lawyers should look into this question, he countered by referring to the proposal to set up a "One Country Two Systems" Committee, clearly in an attempt to fudge the issue.
