Article 19 - Freedom of association

42.

Everyone may associate with everyone else and may

participate in trade unions.

The law may restrict this

right in respect of the police and the armed forces.

Further, the law may restrict the right if restrictions are

specified in the law, if they are necessary in a democratic

society for reasons of national security, public safety,

public order, the protection of public health or morals, or

to take account of the rights of others.

Article 20

Rights in respect of marriage and family

43.

Men and women have the right to marry and found a

family. Forced marriages are prohibited. The parties to a

marriage have equal status during marriage and at the time

of any divorce. If there is a divorce any children must be

protected.

Article 21 Rights of children

44.

Every child has the

right to be protected,

regardless of the child's race colour, language, religion

or national or social status. Each child must have a name

and be registered immediately after birth.
