Her Majesty's Ambassador at Buenos Aires to the Argentine Minister for Foreign Affairs and Worship

Buenos Aires, 22 October 1968.

I have the honour to refer to this Embassy's Note No. 214 of 2 July 1968 which informed Your Excellency that the authorities of the Isle of Man have decided to issue their own passports.

2. The Government of the United Kingdom wish to apply to the holders of the said passports the Agreement between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of the Argentine Republic for the abolition of Visas constituted by the Exchange of Notes of 17 February 1967(1).

3. I now have the honour to propose, on the instructions of Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, that the words "or Isle of Man ""be inserted after the words "Guernsey or its Dependencies" in sub- paragraph 1 (a) of the said Agreement. and

4. If the foregoing proposal is acceptable to the Government of the Argentine Republic, I have the honour to suggest that this Note together with Your Excellency's reply to that effect shall constitute an Agreement between the two Governments in this matter.

I avail myself of this opportunity to renew to Your Excellency the assurance of my highest consideration.
