1. You will by now have seen a copy of Bob Setterfield's letter to me of 20 November (faxed to you).

Apart from the question of reimbursement, on which I think we might revert once we have an agreed proposal to put to the Chinese, Wellington raise the question of notice for any change in Pitcairn's call signs. As you can see, they have asked for 4-5 years' notice which we have in the past indicated would be possible.
3. In our latest correspondence (Grace Lui's letter to me of 3 November), the option of discussion at JLG XVII seemed possible. I note, however, that the subject has not arisen in discussions between JLG offices over the agenda (UKRep JLG telnos 441 and 459).

It would be helpful to have an indication of your latest thinking. If we needed to give the Pitcairn Islands 5 years' notice of changes, we are very much pushing up to the deadline for putting proposals to the Chinese.
