CONFIDENTIAL MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
1. Delegations representing the aeronautical authorities of the
United Kingdom and of Malaysia met at Kuala Lumpur from 9 August
1989 to 11 August 1989; a list of the two delegations is attached
as Annex 1. The two delegations reached the understanding, in
view of the arrangements made between the delegations of Hong
Kong and Malaysia, that the existing arrangements between the
aeronautical authorities of the United Kingdom and of Malaysia
in so far as they relate to air services between Malaysia and Hong Kong will cease to have effect.
2. The two delegations also decided that it would be necessary for there to be an Exchange of Diplomatic Notes to effect the
necessary amendments to the Air Services Agreement between the
United Kingdom and Malaysia, and to make certain other
consequential provisions, with effect from the date of entry into
force of the Air Services Agreement between Hong Kong and Malaysia; the draft of the Exchange is attached as Annex 2.
