COPYRIGHT (TAIWAN) ORDER 1985:
EXTENSION TO HONG KONG
Thank you for your letter of 29 January I am sorry I could not reply earlier. The last time we corresponded was seven years ago in relation to, I think, the Czechoslovakian Order in the context of enemy property!
We think that the amendment of the Copyright (Hong Kong) Order 1972 does get around the problem. I have sought
David Irving's views and attach copies of my minute to him and his reply. He asks about the possibility of extending the 1988 Act to Hong Kong.
On the assumption that we are to proceed by way of amendment to the 1972 Order you may wish to consider including in the amendment references to post-1979 Acts affecting the 1956 Act. Also for your consideration are the few minor amendments suggested to your draft Order in my minute of 1 February.
