Before the order is gazetted, the Chinese side will be informed through the Political Adviser's office. We do not envisage that the Chinese would have any strong views over the proposal.
PUBLIC REACTION

In the absence of official Chinese reaction, the public at large is unlikely to be interested. Local copyright owners, especially those who have turned to Government for help, will welcome the proposal.

A press release will be issued. Companies which have representations on this subject, the legal profession, representative organizations of publishing, film-making and broadcasting industries will be advised by letter separately.
