substantial increases, by 152%, 54% and 36%

respectively, were recorded for planned developments

of industrial property, commercial property and other

types of property (such as hotels, cinemas and school

buildings), while planned developments of residential

property fell by 52% in terms of units or by 53% in

terms of floor area (Table 5).

Comparing the twelve months ending March

1990 with the same period a year earlier, planned

developments of industrial property, commercial

property, and other types of property also increased,

by 46%, 58% and 32% respectively, while planned

developments of residential property decreased by 38%

in terms of floor area or by 41% in terms of number of

units. Taking all types of property together, planned

developments increased by only 2% over the period.

(e) Land disposal

22.

During the first quarter of 1990, a total of

7.5 hectares of land were sold at Government auctions

and by tender (including Letter A/B tenders). This

was made up of 1.1 hectares for industrial use and 6.4

hectares for non-industrial use. The results of the
