(b) any practical problems about the dates at present on
offer, namely late April/early May 1992, 1993 or 1995;
(c) whether the Hong Kong government can be relied upon to
have the facilities and organisational ability (and hotel capacity) to cope with a meeting of this kind. The number of people attending would be in the region of 1,500 to 2,000 and the meeting normally lasts for 3 days. The meeting would of course require the usual convference facilities such as simultaneous interpretation;
(d) whether we would be safe to rely on the reported
assurance of Mr David Nendick that the Chinese have agreed to the proposal. (I am not aware that the UK have agreed, as he claims.) Would they indeed have any
reasonable grounds for complaint?
