Attendance at meetings.

A research officer will have a

standing invitation to attend your departmental meetings

each Monday. You will try to arrange for RAD to attend

policy meetings organised by your Department, social

functions for relevant visitors, etc.

Familiarisation. All newly-arrived staff in either

Department, except secretarial and registry staff, will pay an early visit to the other.

Copying correspondence, databases etc. Your Department

will ensure that all relevant correspondence is copied to

RAD. Consideration will be given to reflecting this

requirement in the FJPS of your desk officers. Far

Eastern Section will send your Section Heads a list of any

relevant databases held by it, and will notify you of

significant updates.

Seminars, university visits. Our departments will keep

each other and the Policy Planning Staff informed before

attending seminars, visiting universities, or meeting

academic contacts in the FCO, to identify themes of

special interest, and will send each other a copy of any resulting records.
