The first recommendation of the working group set up to study localisation in AGC, the "double ladder", has been implemented. Recommendations on localisation of the directorate being finalised.
The position is being examined in the Legal Aid Department with a view to establishing what measures might be required. The intake of local lawyers has been increased by accepting less
experienced candidates.
