Thank you for your letter of 10th August 1990 enclosing the quotation from Concorde Construction, which seems to be fair and reasonable, and can be accepted in due course.
2. It was never intended for the contractor to remake or modify the IDS at the site of D21, this will require the attention of your local TSD officer.

The card key access control system fitted to D40 is a commercial installation and is not subject to any security restrictions. It was supplied and fitted by Guardforce Ltd, which is a Hong Kong company. I would be grateful if you would contact them for a quotation for its removal, they may wish to purchase the equipment for reuse, as we have no further use for it. original cost was HKD 39,000.

4. Security Department and ourselves have no objection to D5 remaining in situ, but we must bear in mind that the door is a fire escape exit, please therefore check with the fire department that the door is accceptable for that purpose.

Security Department have agreed that D16 can remain, provided that a Medway Unit with combination lock can be fitted. Please confirm with your TSD officer that this is possible, if he does not have a Medway unit available for use, please order a unit from Peter Finch (Security Department).

Rooms 301 and 302 are a more difficult problem, in order to bring them to the required security standard an entrance to 301 would need to be fitted from the stair well, and a door provided in the partition between 301 and 302. D14 and 15 and the corridor partition would have to be removed and replaced by security standard walling, carried up to the structural soffit, involving
