MEMORANDUM OF RESPONSIBILITIES TO BE ASSUMED BY
HER MAJESTY'S GOVERNMENT IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND BY THE THE FOOD AND AGRICULTURE ORGANIZATION OF THE UNITED NATIONS FOR THE SEVENTH SESSION OF THE IPFC COMMITTEE FOR THE
DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF FISHERIES IN THE
SOUTH CHINA SEA
The following provisions set out the respective responsibilities to be assumed by Her Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom, hereinafter referred to as the Host Government, and by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, hereinafter referred to as FAO, to ensure the smooth conduct of the Seventh Session of the IPFC Committee for the Development and Management of Fisheries in the South China Sea, hereinafter referred to as the Session, which forms part of the Regular Programme of the Organization.
The Session will be held in Hong Kong from 26 November to 1 December 1990.
FAO will be responsible for organizing the Session, issuing all invitations and circulating the Provisional Agenda.
The following Governments will be invited to attend: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and United Kingdom (Hong Kong).
Invitations will also be sent to the United Nations, the United Nations Development Programme, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, and the World Bank.
Observers will be invited from the Asian Development Bank, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the Colombo Plan for Cooperative Economic and Social Development in Asia and the Pacific, the Intergovernmental Organization for Marketing Information and Technical Advisory Services for Fishery Products the Asia and Pacific Region, the International Centre for Living Aquatic Resources Management, the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Centre, and the South Pacific Forum Fisheries Agency.
