10. Please give details of the proposed insurance arrangements to
cover third-party liability during:-
a) the launch phase
Third party liability insurance cover is the responsibility of
the China Great Wall Industry Corporation as the launching agency.
They have confirmed their acceptance of this undertaking in their
letter of the 12thh February 1990 Ref LDW900213 (copy attached).
b) the operational life of the satellite.
We are currently in the process of establishing 3rd Party In-Orbit
liability cover for the amount of 150,000,000. Copies of the
relevant policy will be forwarded by our Insurance Brokers, Willis
Faber and Dumas (UK) when available.
c) final disposal
It is as yet too soon to make insurance available for this
particular event.
However, the satellite will be disposed of in
accordance with internationally recognized practices that are
in force today.
