3.1
Low Noise Amplifier (LNA)
The LNA subsystem noise, temperature and gain shall be consistent with the telemetry and ranging system G/T requirements. No cryogenic cooling shall be permitted. The LNA gain stability shall be suitable for a tracking system and the LNAS shall be designed to operate with a high degree of linearity.
7.3.2 Power Division System
The
Downlink Subsystem shall include a Power Division System for dividing the received signal after the LNA into . the required number of paths. The outputs of the Power Division shall be provided to the down-converters.
The Power Division system shall be broadband with unused ports terminated.
7.3.3 Down-Conversion Subsystem
all
The Down-Conversion Subsystem shall be equipped with units necessary to convert the spacecraft beacon signals from the RF frequency to the IF frequency.
7.3.4 Configuration
The
Down-Conversion
Subsystem shall have redundancy
provided to meet the availability goal of Section 1.3.
7.3.5 Level Adjustment
Control of the output level of each down-converter shall be provided. This control shall be located on the front panel.
7.3.6 Test and Monitor Ports
8.0
8.1
An injection coupler shall be provided at the LNA input. Spectrum monitor ports shall be provided at the output of the LNA and each down-converter. Monitor ports shall be equipped with connectors capable of withstanding rugged
service.
