Mr Parker, Legal Advisers, has asked to see the text of the declaration before we transmit it to The Hague. He is on leave until 16 January;

Mr Parker has passed a copy of Hong Kong's Ordinance to the Lord Chancellor's Department for scrutiny. does not expect any comments; and

Hong Kong have asked for two weeks' notice of the extension of the Convention.
