As requested I submit updated brief personality notes on the main Chinese leaders, including the principal figures concerned with
Hong Kong.
2. You mentioned that someone had recently spoken to Mr Maude of
"Lu Peng". This is undoubtedly a reference to Lu Ping, a Deputy
Director of the Hong Kong and Macau Affairs (see part E of the
notes).
