would assist in ensuring the smooth resumption of land
required for some PADS related works.
DECISION
The Council ADVISED and the Governor ORDERED
that
(a) under section 2 of the Crown Lands
Resumption Ordinance, the purpose of the
proposed
resumption,
namely
the
provision of land at Chek Lap Kok
Island,
New
Territories
for the
construction of a new airport is a
public purpose;
(b) under
section 3 of the Ordinance, the
resumption of the land described in
paragraph 7 of the memorandum, is
required for that public purpose; and
(c) whilst no Legislative Council brief
should be issued, the other low-key
publicity
arrangements referred to in
paragraph 17 should be adopted to
announce this decision.
