An Ordinance to establish a body corporate to manage and control public hospitals for the provision therein of hospital services, and to provide for matters incidental thereto or connected therewith.

1.
Short title and commencement
(1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Hospital Authority Ordinance 1990.
(2) This Ordinance shall come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Governor by notice in the Gazette, and the Governor may appoint different days for different provisions.

Interpretation
(1) In this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise requires--- “Authority”(醫管局) means the Hospital Authority established under sec-
tion 3(1);
"Chairman" (E) means the Chairman of the Authority appointed under
section 3(3)(a);
“committee”(委員會) means a committee established under section 13; “fee” includes a charge;
“function”(職能) includes a duty;
“Hospital Governing Committee (醫院管治委員會) means a Hospital
Governing Committee established under section 13(2)(b);
1. 簡稱及生效日期
(1) 本條例可引稱為《1990年醫院管理局條例》。
(2) 本條例自總督在憲報公告指定的日期起實施,總督並可為不同條文指定不同 的實施日期。
2.
釋義
(1) 在本條例中,除文意另有所指外-
“公務員”(public officer)指政府公務員;
“公營醫院”(public hospital)指根據第5(a)條所指的協議歸醫管局管理及掌管的訂明醫
院;
“主要行政人員"(principal officer)指由醫管局僱用為醫管局主要行政人員的人; “主席”(Chairman)指根據第3(3)(a)條委任的醫管局主席;
“區域諮詢委員會"(Regional Advisory Committee)指根據第13(2)(a)條設立的區域諮詢
委員會;
“委員會”(committee)指根據第13條設立的委員會;
“訂明醫院”(prescribed hospital)指列於附表1或2的醫院,包括附屬的房產、建造物及
土地,及毗連其他房產的醫院房產公用部分;
