Procedure for applying

If you consider yourself to be eligible and wish to apply for a pension or other award, you should write to:

There is no special application form but the name, rank and service number of the serviceman concerned should be given. The Pensions Assessment Board will arrange for the collection of any evidence needed to support a claim, and for the applicant to attend a medical board if necessary, and will then decide on the award that should be made. Then a disability pension is granted, the Board will usually arrange that the recipient receives regular medical check-ups, usually svery two years.

If you are already in réceipt of a disability pension and your condition worsens, or if your circumstances change in any way - that may entitle you to a higher award, you should inform the Pensions Assessment Board so that a reassessment may be pade. Also, any change of address or marital status should be reported.

Receipt of a pension does not preclude you free assistance from the Hong Kong War Memorial Fund if your personal circumstancès vaswant it.
