I attach another letter from McIntyre. The only bit which could merit a reply is in the middle of the second last paragraph.
1.
2. Am I not correct in thinking that we have stated publicly that service after 1997 will continue to count in determining SPOS and that after retirement they will still be eligible for SPOS?
3. I note that Appendix A of the 1954 White Paper states in para (?)3 that those who continue to serve will still be regarded as HMOCS members by HMG. We have said this is not the case for Hong Kong. But surely we recognise that should the SARG suddenly decide to fire them without pension, HMG would take up their cause, as if they were still HMOCS members and pay them if necessary. I shall seek legal advice on this but would be grateful for your views.
