To consider the new Directorate Pay scales recommended in the Ross Committee's Tenth Report.

Latest Position
The new directorate schles were approved by Finance Committee
on 2 March.
The results of the 1989/90 pay trend survey were endorsed by the Pay Trend Survey Committee on 23 March. The pay trend indicators are 17% for the upper salary band, 16.46% for the middle salary band and 15.11% for the lower salary band. The Executive Council will be asked to advise on the size of the pay adjustment on 10 April.

purpose.
ExCo considered the modified housing package on 21.2.90 and directed that it be submitted to the various advisory bodies on salaries and conditions of service for advice. Views of the advisory bodies are being sought. The Administration aims at implementing the modified housing package in 1990-91.
