CHAPTER V

HOUSING BENEFITS

Annex A

Letting or sub-letting of quarters (including the acceptance of paying guests) is prohibited.

The use of quarters for any purpose involving gain or profit or for any purpose other than for the residence of the officer and his family is also prohibited without the permission of the Secretary for the Civil Service (see CSR 809 (7)).

806

An officer and his family are expected to observe normal good behaviour particularly in regard to unnecessary or

unreasonable noise.

Pets

807

(1) Animals, other than normally accepted pets such as

dogs, cats, caged birds, and small fish, may not be kept in Government quarters except, in the case of non-departmental quarters, with the Quartering Officer's permission or, in the case of departmental quarters, with departmental permission.

(2)

Domestic pets must be conveyed in service lifts if one exists, and must at all times be under the personal control of the officer, a member of his family or a domestic servant.

808

(3)

All animals and livestock in quarters must be kept under proper control and free from disease and vermin. Grounds of quarters, surrounds and common user facilities such as corridors and lifts must not be used as "dog latrines" (see also CSR 883).

Failure to observe the provisions of CSRs 806 and 807 may entail withdrawal of entitlement to quarters.
