Please find enclosed copy of a memo 19.7.1989 from the Commissioner, ICAC requesting the extension of the Hong Kong Disciplined Services Medal to include staff of ICAC.

Whilst we appreciate that the proposal, if approved, should be conducive to boosting the staff morale of ICAC, we would appreciate your comments
the suggestion for further consideration of the issue. Specifically, we would also wish to have your views on the following:
(a)
the implication that if the suggestion is implemented, it may
further the claim
of ICAC staff for parity of treatment with the other disciplined services;
(b) reaction from Disciplined Services staff;
(c) the feasibility of
Warrant gazetted of
amending the Royal 1.8.1986 on the Hong
Kong Disciplined Services accommodate the Commissioner's

Medal suggestion;
