Hong Kong Disciplined Services Medal
Thank you for your agreement to take forward our proposal to
include the ICAC in the Hong Kong Disciplined Services Medal Scheme. I note that the Secretary for Security has provided you with relevant background correspondence.

copy of 2 memo dated 19 July 1989 from CAC to SCS putting forward the arguments (Appendix I); and
copy of the Royal Warrant in the form of L.N. 185 of 1996 relating to the Hong Kong Disciplined Services Medal (Appendix II).
In addition, I wish to advise that in assuming responsibility for advising on the pay and conditions of service of departmental grades in the ICAC, the Standing Committee on Disciplined Services Salaries and Conditons of Service is satisfied that the ICAC is a disciplined service. A copy of the memo of 18 October 1989 from the Secretary General of the Standing Committee is at Appendix III.
