SIR DEREK MARCH

When Sir Derek March called on the Secretary of State recently to say farewell on his retirement from the Service, he mentioned that he was trying to find post retirement work in connection with the airport and port development in Hong Kong. The Secretary of State commented that it would be very helpful if Sir Derek could find a job in this connection.

I do not know whether Derek March has approached you directly about this. But in any case you will wish to be aware of this background. Given Derek's experience of Hong Kong and trade, I would have thought that there could well be a role for him to play.

A R Paul
