Vacancy for Director of Intellectual Property

A submission will soon be made to the Finance Committee for the creation of a permanent post of Director of Intellectual Property head the new Intellectual Property Department which will
will be established on 1 June 1990 to provide for the registration of patents and trade marks for goods. The department is expected to assume responsibility for the protection of additional intellectual property rights in due course. The proposed rank of the Director post is, subject to the approval of the Finance Committee, D4/DL4* on the Directorate Pay Scale currently remunerated at a salary of $64,850 per month.

Pending the creation of the permanent post of Director of Intellectual Property in June 1990 and formal approval of the appointment, the selected officer may be seconded to the Registrar Gedural's Department un i April 1990 for a two-month period and be appointed as Director of Intellectual Property with effect from 1 June 1990.

Applications are now invited from serving officers at D3/DL3 or above or equivalent level for appointment to this post, subject to its creation.
*Subject to the approval of the Finance Committee of the revised directorate structure as recommended by the Ross Committee, the post of the Director of
of Intellectual Property will be ranked at D5/DLS, 1.e. $71,750 per month.
