Kingdom whilst serving in Hong Kong. During the period of secondment, the Hong Kong Government will accept liability for the officer's superannuation contributions (botn the employer's and employee's contributions). No deduction will be made from the officer's salary in respect of superannuation contributions or Salaries Tax payable thereon.

DISTURBANCE GRANT

The officer will be eligible for a disturbance grant upon taking up the appointment equivalent to 60% of one month's salary at the top point of the Hong Kong Master Pay Scale for married officers and 30% for single officers. A similar grant will be paid upon the successful completion of the appointment. These grants may be adjusted pro rata should the period of appointment be less than 24

months.

ELIGIBILITY FOR FRINGE BENEFITS

A term of this appointment is that an officer will only be eligible for fringe benefits in accordance with the regulations relating to the provision of such benefits and to the regulations relating to the prevention of double benefits.

7. MEDICAL AND DENTAL

Mdical advice and treatment, X-ray examinations and medicines are provided free of charge in Hong Kong to the officer and his family when these benefits are provided by the Government Medical Services. Dental treatment (extractions and fillings) is also provided free of charge by the Government Dental Service but charges are made for dentures and dental appliances. Spectacles are not provided by the Government. Charges are made for maintenance in hospital. For further details see Appendix

For the purpose of Clause 7.1 "family" normally means the officer's spouse and unmarried children under the age of 19 years. It also includes any unmarried child aged 19 or 20 in full-time education or vocational training or who on account of physical or mental infirmity is dependent on the officer. Candidates who are divorced or legally separated or who have step-children, or dependent children over the age of 19 snould inquire as to their eligibility for inclusion as "family" before accepting appointment.

8. QUARFERS

8.1

The Hong Kong Government will provide partly-furnished quarters of an appropriate grade for the officer and his family. Furnishings will not include air-conditioners or denumidifiers. Rent at no more than 7% of the officers substantive salary will be payable. The officer may be
