SPECIAL DUTIES UNIT ROYAL HONG KONG POLICE FORCE
1.
The Special Duties Unit (SDU) has agreed the following
reciprocal training arrangements with the US Navy Seal Team VI.
2.
(a) SDU team consisting of one inspector and four junior police officers to visit the USA for two to three weeks, probably in September 1990.
b) A US Navy Seals team consisting of four to five men to visit Hong Kong for approximately three weeks between September-November 1990.
These visits would involve the exchange of information and techniques involved in maritime counter-terrorist incidents. Visits would be low-key and out-of-uniform. Arrangements for the visits will be made through the US Consulate in Hong Kong.
3. Hong Kong Department have no objection to this exchange taking place, and would be grateful for your concurrence by Monday 30 July.
