PR POL/HMOCS
HXA 2/393/2
12th March 1975
Alan Scott asked me to reply to your letter of 22nd January about membership of H.M.O.C.S.
For future cases we will proceed on the lines suggested in paragraph 9 of Champion's letter (HX 18/393/1) of 23rd July 1974.
We propose to deal with the outstanding cases referred to in paragraph 4 of Alan Scott's letter of 23rd November and paragraph 5 of your letter by inviting them to fill in a standard application form (copy enclosed). Before we do so, please let me know whether you consider the form adequate to give you the information you need and whether you have any suggestions for improvements. Our hope is to make the form sufficiently informative to enable you to approve the applications without additional research and correspondence.
I agree that it is not necessary to mention H.M.O.C.S. in our memorandum of agreement. The procedure for applying for membership is covered in our Civil Service Regulations.
