The Embassy of Chile presents its compliments to the. Foreign and
Commonwealth Office and has the honour to inform the latter that
the Chilean Government whishes to upgrade its Honorary Consulate
in Hong Kong to a Consulate General served by a professional
diplomat.
Therefore, the Embassy of Chile hereby requests the approval of
Her Majesty's Government for the establishment of a professional
Consulate General in Hong Kong.
The Embassy of Chile avails itself of this opportunity to renew
to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office the assurances of its highest
consideration.
