HONG KONG'S DEATH PENALTY
1. We have received a large number of letters, clearly inspired by Amnesty International, requesting the British Government to abolish the death penalty in Hong Kong before Hong Kong reverts to China in 1997.
2. We should like to write to the local branch of Amnesty International and, if resources permit, to the petitioners as well, perhaps simply copying to them our letter to Amnesty. Would you kindly provide me with suitable material for such a letter?
