JLG XV to be held in Peking 24-27 April
At JLG XIV, Chinese side raised issues of subversion, internationalisation and Tamar. They may continue to press their complaints, and may raise them again at JLG XV.
Still four months to go before JLG XV; too soon to judge what issues to be discussed.
Sponsored Visit
Basic Law : Special Group Meeting and Directors' Meeting in January, Plenum in February and promulgation

If the sponsored visit programme is reactivated within the next few months the next visit would be of mainland Chinese to HK.
To reflect the concerns of HK public to the drafters, and to ensure that BL provisions reflect the JD fully and faithfully.
No sponsored visits have taken place since May 1989. Will be considering when and how to reactivate programme.
BLDC Special Groups have met in December. Future Political System still under consideration although a 30% directly elected element was proposed.
