Boatmaster : TO HONG QUAN

These 19 persons fled HO CHI MINH CITY, S.VN on 26-3-90 by train.

Three days later, they reached HA NOI where they made an over-night stop. They

then headed for HAI NINH via HONG GAI in separate groups and managed to arrive

at DONG XING (東興 ) of China by boat on 31-3-90. They stopped at ( (東興 華僑農場

1 1⁄2 for about 2 weeks so as to prepare for their onward facilities.

During their stay, the C.I.I. of Group II joined them as she was the relative of one of the boatmate. In addition, the C.I.I. offered RMB $1,000 to the boatmaster for her exodus to Hong Kong. On 13-4-90, the combined group of 20 went to LIQUANG HUA QIAO FARM, QINZHOU (4%HELIAL) and stayed

at their relativies' house for another 6 days. They left QINZHOU on 19-4-90 and reached TAI PING ( q ) on the next day. There, they purchased a junk at a cost of RMB $6,000 and set off on the same day. Having stopped at an unknown place for an over-night rest, they eventually arrived in Hong Kong on 21-4-90 without touching MACAO.
