This group of 22 persons were either close or distant relatives living in DONG NAI, S.VN. Under the guidance of Mr. NGO KIM ( uncle of the boatmaster living in HA NOI, N.VN., they departed HO CHI MINH, S.VN. on 30-4-90 by buses and reached HA NOI, four days later. There they stayed for two days and later boarded a Vietnamese transportation junk after paying 187,000 Dongs. They called at JIANG PING (

), CHINA after sailing for 2 days. However, they were intercepted by PRC officials shortly after they disembarked from the transportation junk. They were fined RMB $1,300 and detained in JIANG PING Police Station (21) for five days because of their illegal entry to China. They were then sent back to DONG XING (F) and told to leave China. Nevertheless, they did not follow the instructions given by the PRC officials but headed for Hong Kong again.
