This was the informant's second attempt of escape. familiar with the land routing from Vietnam to China, he just left his home town, HO CHI MINH, alone on 28-12-89 carrying a total sum of one tael of gold, US dollar 36, and 40,000 Dongs. He arrived at HA NOI by train on 31-12-89 and subsequently came to HAI NINH where he stayed for
At last, nearly a month because he could not meet a trustworthy courier. he met a Chinese male who promised to lead him to China. He was ordered to disguise himself as a merchant and went through the check points of Sing-Vietnamese border with a group of traders. When he came to DONG XING (東興 ), he had to rest until 1-3-90 because of illness. Later, he was introduced to another courier called AH CHAO (
) who escorted him to GUANG ZHOU (A) by bus at 0.6 tael of gold. Without any rest, he proceeded to HUI DONG (
) and stayed at the courier's
home awaiting chance of escape. It was not until 6-3-90, did he come to a port where he had to wait till 2000 hrs. of the following day. Then he
