These two VBP were landcrossers from Vietnam to China. The trip was organized by a Chinese courier named 'THANII' who lived in S.VN. 'THANH' charged each of them 2.5 Lals of gold. On 8-2-90, the party of three left HO CHI MINH and went to HA NOI by train. 'THANH' left them for personal business and returned one week later. On 8-2- 90. the three continued their journey, They took a bus to DONG DANG via LANG SON. On the following day, they crossed the Sino-Vietnamese land border and arrived at PENG XIANG (#). Some money was paid to the border official at both sides bu the amount was unknown. They went to LUNG ZHOU # 州 ) and then NAN NING (南寧 ) where they stayed for two days. On 24-2-90, they reached GUANG ZHOU (A) by bus and stayed at a house near the pier. Besides these two VBP, there were a total of 16 others awaiting in the house. In the same evening, all 18 of them were taken to a pier where a boat was berthing. Before boarding the boat, Lwo VBP were warned by 'THANH, That they had to claim that they were Chinese resi- dents of DONG GUAN (
