Although we were not allowed to visit the border on this trip (although we were assured we would be able the next time we came), the Chinese provided a lot more information than I thought they would in advance. I am most grateful for the sterling work of Mrs Lily King who had to act as interpreter for both sides throughout the visit in a variety of dialects
and accents.
