On
The 7 escapees fled HO CHI MINH City, S. VN on 20-9-1989 by train. Three days later, they reached HAI PHONG where they stayed for 5 days. 28-9-1989, they went to HONG GAI by ferry and made a 2-day stopover.
They took another ferry on 30-9-1989 and arrived at HAI NINH on the same day. They approached the check point in the following morning and subsequently crossed the Sino-Vietnamese border and came to DONG XING (
) where they stopped for 7 days for onwards facilities. On 8-10-1989, they went to JIANG PING (1+ ) by bus. It was a 2-hrs' ride. There, they met the 5 ECVIIS (è. Group II) who were allowed to join them as they were the relatives of THU A MUof Group IThe combined group of 12 collected a sum of 3 taels of gold and purchased a motorized sailing junk. They departed JIANG PING on the same day and moved along the coast. Six days later, they stopped at an unknown place
