1. Thank you for your minute of 30 January. The most recent occasion when we passed on information to the Chinese about coast hoppers and others was indeed on 22 January, as recounted in Hong
Kong telno 21.
2. It would be useful to establish an additional channel for this
information at this end by following up your conversation with Ambassador Ji. We have sent a telegram to Hong Kong asking them to let us have a copy of the package handed over to Ji Shaoxiang on 22 January, for onward transmission to the Chinese Ambassador. We will
draft a covering letter from you for this purpose.
