I am writing to you both in my capacity as Chairman of John Swire & Sons Ltd. (the parent company of the Swire Group) and as a Director of Cathay Pacific Airways.
I felt, as a matter of courtesy, that you would like to see the attached note prepared by David Gledhill, the Chairman of Cathay Pacific, setting out the Swire Group's growing concern with the rather slow progress in the Joint Liaison Group on the separation of Hong Kong Air Service Agreements.
Swires have in fact discussed the problem with the NCNA in Hong Kong and the attached has been lodged with them. The matter is thus already in hand but, as mentioned above, I felt that you would like to be kept informed as a matter of courtesy.
