Elizabeth Wright I agree that she should be dropped. We propose to replace her with Geoffrey Hodgson, Foreign Editor of The Independent' since we are deferring the meeting with the editorial board of that paper until some time next year.

David Shambaugh lecturer in Chinese politics at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). He took over from Stuart Shram. He has written a biography of Zhao Zhiyang and broadcasts regularly on BBC World Service and on TV.
