FUTURE OF HONG KONG
Committed to do all we can to ensure that Sino-British
Joint Declaration is successfully implemented.
- To this end, we are seeking to establish a better working
relationship with Chinese Government over Hong Kong.
Mr Maude's visit to China in July and visit of Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr Tian Zengpei, to the UK in November both contributed significantly to this process.
NATIONALITY SCHEME
When will first passports be issued?

Implementation of the scheme begaon on 1 December. Applicants have until the end of February to submit their applications. First batch of passports should be issued in
the late spring/early summer 1991.
Definition of a British Company
- A British company has been defined as one which the
Governor is satisfied has a close connection with the UK.
