QUESTION:
Xr. Chairman, the prestigious "Economist" said that two
million people should be given right of abode, anything less would
be counter productive. We are constantly told that all that can be
done is that which is politically possible. By that, I suppose is
meant that which is acceptable to the people of England and their
representatives in Parliament.
Our illustrious speaker will have heard of the two who came
under the auspices of British television from Mr. Tebbit' 8
constituency and our speaker spoke about a "rude and ignorant
caricature" which is the picture of Hong Kong outside. T'hey
underlined this; they completely changed their views when they saw
the real long Kong and they accept that they got completely the
wrong idea from the media and source information in England.
My question to our illustrious speaker is will the Government
consider undertaking some kind of campaign to correct this
misinformation in England?
