The Chancellor of the Exchequer will this year lead the UK Delegation to the CFMM (which will include representatives from Gibraltar, Bermuda and possibly the Caymans).

I attach a copy of a letter from David Rae, at the Treasury, in which he commissions briefing for the CFMM, as

3. Briefs are required by 30 August, in the usual Treasury form of Objectives, Line to Take and Background, on plain white and in keeping with the example attached to David Rae's letter. Please note particularly the heading layout,
Final briefs and the plea that briefs should be concise. should be sent directly to David Rae and copied to Richard Tauwhare, here in ERD. The FCO is asked to lead on three items, and I should be grateful if lead Departments, as indicated on the attached list, would consult as necessary.
4. We shall want to consider bilaterals for the Chancellor. I should be grateful for your bids. Last year, the then Economic Secretary, Richard Ryder, agreed to see the Finance Ministers of Bangladesh, Nigeria and Zambia. In making nominations, please give full details of who the Chancellor should see and reasons why a meeting at this time would be useful. Bids should be sent to Richard Tauwhare, including
