Mr McLaren has agreed to chair the morning session, on Asian
subjects. He will lead on these subjects on our side but will be
looking for support from his Departments' representatives.
2.
3. Mr Beamish has agreed to chair the afternoon session which will
be largely devoted to European topics. In the afternoon it will be
for the relevant Head of Department to lead on each item. I suggest the following procedure: UK side opens with scene setter and
statement of UK views (say five or ten minues), Australians comment, questions/discussion.
4. Mr Gillmore has agreed to host a lunch at Granby's Royal Horseguards' Hotel. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to invite all participants; the guest list, which still has to be decided, will be partly determined by the topics which the
Australians choose to discuss over lunch.
