Relevant facts are
(1) From 25 December 1941 onwards, the Japanese
army forced Hong Kong residents to convert Hong
Kong currency to Japanese currency and military
bills. Two Hong Kong dollars were convertible
to one military bill. Later, four Hong Kong
dollars were convertible to one military bill.
This lasted until the Liberation Day on 30 August
1945.
